In the spring of 2025, Yu-bin and Vince visited the North Creek Boardwalk. On their walk and exploring, they discovered a small pool contaminated with oil. Trapped inside were dozens of tadpoles struggling to survive. Unable to ignore what they had jut found, the students searched for a way to help. They carried clean water from the nearby Brightwater Center and carefully created a temporary habitat for the tadpoles. Over the next four months, they monitored their growth, learned about local ecosystems, and cared for the animals as they transformed from tadpoles into frogs.
When the frogs were ready, the students returned them to a healthy habitat and watched them hop into the wild.
This experience planted the seed for The Prasinus Collective: a belief that creativity, curiosity, and action can help build a more sustainable future.
